I was honoured to receive the Best In Category prize at the 2012 Association of Photographers Awards last week.

Each year the industries finest commercial photographers from across the globe enter their best images, this year over 3500 entries were received with only 9 making it into the commissioned advertising category of which two were shot by myself.

About the winning image :

I was commissioned by The Society Of Motor Manufacturers and Traders to shoot a promotional campaign for their ongoing support of the UK automotive industry.

The photo of the Bentley Mulsanne factory in Crewe depicted this state of the art car plant producing Bentley’s flagship model. Bentley’s new 7,500m2  Body-in-White Assembly Centre is a multi-million pound facility where robotic arms carrying massive self-piercing riveters work in harmony with coachbuilders renowned for their metalworking skills. Before the Mulsanne reaches the end of the line it will have undergone over 2000 quality checks

The images were shot on the Leica S2 professional camera system .
