Inmarsat GX5 Satellite
The Inmarsat GX5 satellite launches onboard an Ariane 5 rocket tomorrow. I took these photographs of the satellite at a delicate stage of production back in April. The “mating” of the two modules takes several hours working to a tolerance of a few millimetres. We shot through abstract Dichroic glass segments.
Dichroic glass was invented by NASA in the 1950s to protect delicate equipment from cosmic rays.
