Renault Avantime re-imagined 20 years on

The Renault Avantime concept car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999. The project, originally known as ‘CoupéSpace’ was renamed Avantime.

The avant-garde four seat, three door coupé concept combined all the space and functionality of an MPV with the dynamism of a coupé and the exhilaration of a cabriolet.

The first of its kind, with vast pillar-less windows, insane double hinged doors and the largest opening glass roof in the world at the time of launch.

Just six months after Geneva the Avantime was then revealed as a full production car. Only minor changes were made to the concept car in order to make it production ready.

I have owned an extremely rare  3Litre  Avantime Privilege spec for 17 years now, the design still looks futuristic after 20 years and generates complimentary comments in the street even today.

The UK Spec car was sold from 2002 so I decided it would be an interesting exercise to re imagine a contemporary Renault Ad campaign 20 years on, shooting and designing fresh advertising using the 2022 Renault branding.

Using my car as the mule we simply changed the colour from its existing metallic grey to Renault’s current Flame Red colour that closely matches the concept show car.
