The Ice Cave
My best friend lives in Chamonix France, at the base of Mont-Blanc so I visit a couple of times a year.
One of my absolute favourite places is Mer De Glace, the rapidly retreating glacier that winds its way down into the valley.
These shots are of the ice cave that sits at the head of the glacier. Climate change means that this cave has to be protected by the addition of thermal blankets in the summer – a rather tragic state of affairs.
