TWA Hotel at JFK

The refurbishment of this aviation icon was completed just before Covid.
I have been desperate to shoot a project on this building ever since.
A talented counterpart of mine snuck in there before me to create his interpretation – here’s my take.
Designed by architect Eero Saarinen.
Originally built by TWA and completed in 1962 as a bespoke terminal for the Super Constellation piston airliners-just as jet airliners started to be introduced.
In effect it became redundant soon after completion.
Thankfully a preservation order in 1994 prevented its demolition and it has now been repurposed as a stylish hotel using a 1960’s theme.
Shot a couple of weeks ago, enroute to Long Island.
I love it. Visit it once before it starts to look tired.
